The program is designed to support the emotional and creative development of Girls, empowering them to reach their full potential and contribute positively to their communities.

Tulsa Girls Art School is a nonprofit after-school and summer program for Girls grades 3 – 12 who live within Tulsa city limits. We use art to build confidence, creativity, and a strong sense of belonging. Tulsa Girls learn in a safe, consistent and welcoming environment where their ideas matter and their voices are encouraged. No art experience is needed, just curiosity and a desire to create.

We serve up to 90 students annually. Girls can begin the program as early as 3rd grade and continue through high school. Classes meet multiple times a week and students are supported with everything needed to succeed, including:

- Art instruction and supplies

- Caring adult mentors

- Healthy meals and snacks

- Transportation from select Tulsa Public Schools

- Field trips, exhibitions, and travel for Advanced students

Annual Art Shows

Two annual art shows provide an opportunity for students to not only sell their artwork, but build financial awareness. 6th — 11th grade students receive 50% of their art sale proceeds. Seniors receive 100%. Funds are deposited into an account to be used for the student’s future goals, and are available after graduating from both high school and the Art School.

Art School is totally free. We prioritize students who may benefit most from our program. We are committed to serving students who face financial, emotional, or access-related barriers — building a joyful, diverse community rooted in care. While no prior art experience is required, students will be excepted to explore and create art.

Applications open online each spring. Selected families will be invited to a meet and greet at the Art School where you will have an opportunity tour the school, meet the teachers and ask any questions you may have. Because space is limited to 90 Girls, we cannot admit every eligible applicant. You may apply at the link above.

New Student applications closes on May 25, 2026.

Eligibility Review
We confirm applicants meet requirements, such as age, grade level, and schedule availability.

Mission-Based Priority
We consider which students may benefit most from additional support due to financial, emotional, or access-related barriers. Families are never required to provide documentation or share personal details, and no single factor guarantees admission.

Equitable Selection
When the number of eligible applicants exceeds available space, students within priority groups are selected at random. This process helps ensure fairness, equity, and reduced bias.

Tulsa Girls Art School does not make admissions decisions based on artistic talent, prior experience, or academic performance. Our goal is to build a diverse, affirming community where students can grow both creatively and personally.
